Živilė obtained a bachelor's degree in Physics from Vilnius University, Lithuania, and continued her studies with a master's degree in Photonics Engineering at Ghent University, Belgium. She conducted her master's thesis research in the Liquid Crystals and Photonics group, focusing on structured surfaces for the alignment of blue phase liquid crystals. Currently, she is pursuing a PhD, which revolves around developing printed polymerizable chiral liquid crystal layers for diffractive components. In 2023, she was awarded a PhD fellowship by the Research Foundation Flanders (FWO).
