Qiming holds a Master's degree in Physics and a Master's degree in Statistics and Data Science, both from KU Leuven. In 2021, he began his PhD project, "Optical Characterization and Robotic Monitoring of Biogenic Carbon Particles in the Ocean," as part of the ERC-CarbOcean project. This PhD project is a collaboration between LCP and the Marine Optics and Remote Sensing Research Group (MarSens) at the Faculty of Science. The project aims to advance our understanding of the ocean’s biological carbon pump, which plays a crucial role in the transfer of CO2 to the deep ocean, by developing a novel optical sensing technique.
